A Practice Shaped by Decades of Legal Work

From Politics to the Practice of Law

“What first drew Morrie I. Levine to law was straightforward: grounded in a deep commitment to community leadership and civic engagement, he understood that mastering the law was the most rigorous and effective foundation for meaningful public advocacy and counsel.”

AN EARLY LESSON

A Ten-Minute Conversation That Stayed for Decades

Early in his career, Morrie volunteered at a free legal assistance day in Miami, answering relatively simple legal questions for people who might otherwise have had limited access to an attorney.

One woman spoke with him for about ten minutes, later returned for another conversation, and afterward gave him a hug because he had helped her with her problem. When she first arrived, she believed that no one could help her and that no solution was available.

“That experience has always stayed with me.”

The experience reinforced the importance of listening, being considerate, and making the effort to help whenever possible.

THE RESPONSIBILITY BEHIND THE WORK

Listening, Attention and Client Interests

Morrie hopes clients feel that he paid attention to them, looked out for their interests, cared about their situation, and communicated with them clearly.

The objective is not simply to complete a legal task. It is to understand the client’s circumstances, identify the available options, and work toward a result the client can regard as satisfactory.

Relationships, Independence and Continued Trust

Over decades in practice, Morrie has learned the importance of maintaining an independent and durable practice.

A lawyer should be grateful to clients who return and continue to place their trust in the firm. At the same time, circumstances change. Clients may leave, relationships may end, and new matters arise.

For Morrie, continuing to develop professional relationships and new clients has always been part of sustaining the practice over time.

ROOTED IN SOUTH FLORIDA

Hollywood and the Community

The office practices in Hollywood, Florida and serves clients throughout South Florida.

Years of work in the region have provided practical familiarity with its business environment, real estate market, and the kinds of legal issues that arise for business owners, property owners, and families.

The office’s continued presence in Hollywood also provides local context for the matters it reviews.

A CONSTANT PRINCIPLE

Experience Without Assumption

Morrie wants people who visit the firm’s website to understand that he approaches legal work seriously and brings decades of experience to the matters he accepts.

He does not claim to know every answer immediately.

When an issue requires further analysis, his approach is to investigate, research, and work to find the answer.

Experience also does not mean assuming that the conventional approach is always the correct one. Where the facts justify it, Morrie is willing to consider a different legal theory, an unconventional approach, or a challenge to an established assumption.

That combination of experience, realism, preparation, and willingness to examine alternatives continues to shape his approach to legal work.

BEFORE THE FIRST CONVERSATION

Begin by Clarifying the Matter

People often contact a lawyer before they know exactly how to define the problem.

The first step is clarification: What is the matter? What is the client trying to accomplish? What documents or information are available? Are there time constraints or other practical concerns?

An initial conversation can help identify those issues and determine whether further legal work may be appropriate.
